Suspension of non - essential planned engineering works

Suspension of non-essential planned engineering works due to bad weather warnings

(Clarification to brief released at 3.30pm today)

Bad weather is set to continue this week with the Met office advising that particularly persistent and heavy rain will affect many parts of the UK over the next few days.

BT's priorities are to ensure that customers and our staff are safe and that a high level of customer service is maintained. So from 4.00pm on Friday 6 July 2012 - until further notice - we are suspending all non-essential planned engineering work (PEWs). Essential and emergency works will go ahead as planned. We will re-plan PEW work to ensure we recover next week.

This action is being taken to help us keep service and operations as stable as possible until the weather situation improves.

We will continue to monitor the weather forecast with the Met Office and will inform you of any changes that occur.

IMPACT

During this time, our service management centre will be very busy, and you may experience delays in getting a response from us. If you are able to avoid the need to contact us during this period, this will enable us to focus on progressing cases where we can. We will ensure you and your teams are updated via the online portals and regular communications channels as soon as we have more information.

If you have any concerns, please talk to your Client Manager.

Regards,

Angus Flett
